Free Wordpress Plugin Can Make Your Business Grow.

Your company has a great product but you aren’t  getting much traffic or conversions to your website. You constantly ask yourself, “What kinds of promotions bring viral traffic to my website?”

I have used Twitter contests to promote my blog and other businesses that I consult. I wanted something that could measure the analytics of such a contest and see how I could better measure ROI. While in a Youtube coma, I discovered a Wordpress Plugin that can create a viral contest using Twitter, and Facebook, Youtube and now Digg. The best part was that this simple plugin was free.

If you use a self-hosted Wordpress blog for your business, this simple plugin, could bring attention and traffic to your website and business like you’ve never imagined.

A few weeks ago, I had a contest on my personal blog. The prize was a simple 5 dollar LeBron James toy car with a collectable basketball card.

That 5 dollar investment increased my traffic, ad revenue and Twitter followers in two weeks. That’s just a measly blog. Imagine what it could do for a small business like a restaurant or specialty shop.

People who never visited my blog were spreading my site all over Facebook and Twitter. The traffic to my blog was so great that my Alexa ranking jumped.

My Twitter followers also increased to over 4000. I’m ranked 4th for tweeting in Cleveland (That’s almost as good as an opt-in email list.)

This plugin allowed me to create a contest using Twitter and Facebook. Contestants entered their Twitter username. They could  Tweet a link back to my site and earn points just for Tweeting and even more points if the link was clicked by another person. Once one person tweeted another person would stop by my site and enter my contest, they would tweet the link and the viral circle continued. People were even putting my contest links on their blogs as well as Facebook.

So if you are business thinking about a Twitter of Facebook promotion and you want generate some local or national buzz, I suggest you try out the Contest Plugin.  It’s free.

If you want to see the contest in action you can check it out right here.
